The first annual FungiFest & Mushroom Show took place in 2017 at the end of Central Oregon’s fall mushroom season, under a foot of snow. Each year since then, the event has grown in scale and has been moved up to early October to coincide with the peak of our area’s mushroom season. The event is presented in partnership with Central Oregon Mushroom Club (COMC) whose members provide the expertise for collecting and identifying hundreds of mushroom specimens and share their passion for mushroom diversity throughout the event. Â
The FungiFest & Mushroom Show takes place annually, typically on the first Saturday of the month of October. A keynote lecture, mushroom foraging field trips, and other programs are held in the weeks leading up to the main event. Â
The 2023 event is scheduled for Saturday, October 7 and will take place in person at Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory
