Julie Hamilton, founding member of the Central Oregon Mushroom Club, and Bend-based artist, has served as a major influencer and core member of the Sunriver FungiFest & Mushroom Show since its inception. Each year since 2017, Julie’s realistic mushroom portraits have formed the backbone of the Mushroom Show’s logo and artwork. A different local mushroom is featured annually setting the artistic vision for the event.

Through Wild Mushroom Portraits, Julie’s artistic moniker, she strives to vividly capture the fleeting moment of discovery in the woods in this place we love. Her watercolor illustrations show local Oregon mushrooms done in the traditional botanical illustration style. Julie’s portraits are available for purchase through Etsy, Facebook, and in person at the Sunriver Mushroom Show. In addition to her artistry, Julie is passionate about mushroom identification and foraging, mentoring those new to mushrooming and leading activities for the Central Oregon Mushroom Club.
